Experience Through Their Eyes

I got the platillo de carnitas to go. Everything was SO GOOD and the portion size was HUGE. I don't have pics to share because I up and ate it all when I got home. The staff was extremely friendly and I could tell that they take extreme pride in the food they serve. (Rightly so.) My only issue was that there was no option to tip on my debit card. I will bring cash for tipping on my future visits, of which there will be many. I can't recommend Pepe's Carnitas enough.

A friend turned us on to Pepe's Carnitas. Uhh maw gawwww!!! It is FANTASTIC! We ordered the carnitas with the "Tamal" (it is a type of bread ), rice, beans, pickled vegetables, lamb broth and this hot guava drink that I turned into a margarita . This Saturday is lit y'all!!!#eatlikealadyshould

I am hooked! There are many places to eat, but this gem of Argentine, an area in Kansas City, Kansas, Pepe's Carnitas is the equivalent to rockstar status. No lie! This well run and great customer service restaurant is usually with a line forming early before opening that day! With many different Mexican cuisine items, you have to hustle to be courteous of those behind you being mindful of others wanting the same great food. I ordered the Tamale de carnitas. Yes, I order 2. One for now and one for later. Lol. They are that good! Pepe's Carnitas was introduced to me by a great man I worked with a couple of years back. I had a hangover and was miserable one Saturday morning and was given this warm, soft, foil wrapped goodness with the aroma that filled the air and like a cartoon character, I was entranced as it hit my senses and savored every bite. Don't know if it cured my hangover, but I knew I WANTED another. Check it out! You can't go wrong here. Come early or come ready for a short wait that is definitely worth the wait.
